OVERCOME FEAR WITH FAITH
Do you know? There are approximately 365 "fear nots" in the Bible (one for every day in the year). God knew we would be afraid and so the maximum of the messages that God gave us in the bible is "DO NOT BE AFRAID. I AM WITH YOU."
You aren't alone. Many people including Christians battle with fear. To overcome fear with faith, you must know how fear works and what to do about it.
Take Authority Over Fear
Here's how fear works. Satan and his demons put ideas into people's heads to carry out their evil plans. Because the devil is wicked, he identifies which people have evil hearts or are spiritually weak. To counteract this evil one, Christians must be aware of their thoughts. By doing so, they can rethink of what they allow into their souls.
Fear is satan's chief weapon and so people panic or get frightened when he tries to attack them through their thoughts.
Be aware of what circles inside your head. Your goal is to overcome fear with faith because living with fear shouldn't be normal. Something you can do right now is to commit to God's ways. Read the scriptures, pray, have faith in God when you are in any tough situation and renew your mind with God's words - the holy scriptures from the Bible.
Jesus already delivered many from fear and is still delivering many people yet. All that you need to do is to approach him and believe in him and surely, he will help you overcome it.
PROVERBS 29:25- The fear of others lays a snare, but one who trusts in the Lord is secure.
Many a times, people have fear of others. Today, in most parts of the world, there are fights between states - between countries, murders, rapes, physical harassments, and so on. People have the fear of being killed or threatened by other people. But let me remind you one thing. People may threaten you or even try to destroy you but they can only harm you physically, not spiritually. Do not let fear bother you but rather stand firm in your faith.
Say this prayer when fear tries to overtake you:
"Lord, I thank and praise you for your unconditional love towards me. You really care for me and I believe that you are a God of wonders and miracles. I ask you to forgive all my sins and cleanse me with your most precious blood which you shed for me on the cross. Deliver me from the bondage of fear. Lord, increase my faith in you so that each passing day, my faith in you may grow stronger and stronger. I make this prayer, in Jesus name, Amen.
Read and Speak This Scripture as Many Times as Necessary:
Isaiah 41:10 &13– Do not fear, for I am with you, do not be afraid, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.
For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, " Do not fear, I will help you."
Live Free from Fear
A believer tends to forget that when they accept Jesus, God adopts them as a family member.
Romans 8:15-16
The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship and by him we cry, "Abba, Father." The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.
People accept fear the same way as they accept faith. They meditate on fear until it grows inside them and becomes bigger than faith. Likewise, fear flows out of a person as easily as faith does. That's because what's in your heart in abundance is what you have the most of.
Fear aligns with satan's kingdom and oppositely, faith aligns with God's kingdom.
The moment you build faith in your heart through the Word of God, fear leaves. Do you remember the times that fear led you instead of faith? Did you also realise that a different power drives each one and produces different results?
Here Are Ways To Live Free From Fear:
- No matter what, put the Word of God first and develop a deeper-working-believing-knowledge of truth.
- Connect quicker to God by praying.
- Recognize fear when it comes. Immediately stop cowering under its pressure. The longer fear lives inside and controls you, the deeper its roots grow.
- Change any thoughts or actions that don't line up with faith. Honour what Jesus did for you –- He died to deliver you from the bondage of fear (Hebrews 2:15)
- Back away from fear and run to Jesus.
- Don't put up with mental bombardments of fearful thoughts. Immediately listen to praise and worship songs. As a believer, you're spiritually connected to God and free in Jesus.
If allowed, fear can dominate every area of your life. Fear is everywhere, but you have to decide whether you want to accept it into your heart or not.
Finally, Overcome Fear With Faith
You can overcome fear with faith by dealing with various situations differently. To build faith, you receive God's Word into your heart, believe it and then put it into practice. Since faith is the opposite of fear, building faith counteracts fear. Do that consistently and fear will be a thing of the past.
When you take authority over fear by building faith, you also build peace (quiet confidence). Life may be upside down, but it's possible to be peaceful.
To overcome fear with faith, you must take authority over it, live free from it and change habits that contribute to fear.
